I have reviewed the Pros and Cons of the windshield covers to keep off frost and snow and found there are so many differences in quality and style.
First a list of Cons – What NOT to Buy. Here’s why:
Many covers come in only one size fits all. We all know vehicles come in many different sizes; small for a mini sports car, medium for a standard sedan and large for SUV and truck. One common complaint is that the cover did not fit and the elastic bands did not reach.
Another common complaint is that some covers have magnets sewn into the trim edge to hold the cover in place. But the magnets were too small and weak and did not hold. Any gust of wind would flip the cover down and blow around.
Another common complaint is that the fabric was poorly sewn, too thin and flimsy. Laminated layers of material would come apart and elastic straps would easily break.
Some disappointed customers found that the cover they ordered did not cover over the wipers. Some covers ended at the bottom of the windshield and it was expected to hold the bottom of the bib in place with the wipers.
The products promotional photos and demonstration often show the cover being applied on a sunny day in summer weather. So what about wind, snow and ice and the wiper well filling with snow?
