Revolutionizing Safety: A Closer Look at the First Alert EZ Fire Spray

I was cleaning up my basement storage area and moving out some boxes when I came across an old fire extinguisher. It was tucked in a corner of the furnace room, always at the ready in case I ever needed it fast. I must have had this one for at least 10 or 15 years and wondered how long they really last. Do the ingredients expire, do they stop working, dry out, seize up? I dusted it off and pulled the pin. I gave the lever a squeeze and….nothing! It did not work at all.

The Quest for a Replacement

Since then I have been looking around at hardware stores for a new fire extinguisher and found that they are not that easy to find. Several popular hardware stores just didn’t have any in stock. I expected to find them right there with the smoke detectors and CO alarms. They are available on their website and can be ordered in but just not ready off the shelf.

Enter the EZ Fire Spray

I did find a rather new idea for extinguishing fires. It is called an EZ Fire Spray. This is not a true safety regulated product for commercial buildings but rather a spray can for household use.

Versatility in Usage

It certainly is so easy to use. A child could use it. No pulling a pin, aiming a hose, squeezing a trigger. Simply spray, just like an aerosol can.  It is useful around a fireplace, campfire, kitchen, dorm room, BBQ, garage workshop and carry one in the car.

No Hassle Refills

It does not need to be refilled or recharged after use. Just keep using it until its empty then dispose of it and purchase a new can.

Surprising Affordability

The other surprising thing is the price. I have found it listed at most stores on display for $19.99 each but at Costco they were a package of TWO for $19.99.

I bought the pack of two. I keep one in my car and one in my furnace room / basement storage room. Better safe than sorry. I feel much safer now just having these quickly available if or when I ever might need it.
